Bellabox February 2014 Review

It has been a long, long time, and I have been very busy but I felt it was time to blog again as I got something worthwhile to blog about! Bellabox!

If you don't know what Bellabox is, it is an Australian monthly subscription box with 6+ sample minis and usually a full price product as well, all for the price of $15 per month. Usually, the cost of the box is covered because it includes shipping and the products inside are worth more than that.

This month's theme was Red Carpet Ready, although the products in my Bellabox did not seem all too red carpet worthy. I wonder..

So here goes the list:

1. Om She Aromatherapy Mascara - Colour

Full size product alert! This mascara retails for $19.95 so it covers the cost of the box alone itself. I received it in a rich brown shade and it delivers great length and separation of the lashes. I was excited for this one and I loved it. I tried it and it is a good mascara although I had never heard of this brand or tried it before, so I look forward to using this and seeing how it goes.

2. Alfaparf Semi Di Lino Moisture Mask - Luxe

This seems to be a pretty good conditioner and it is made in Italy. Quite rich and luxe, indeed. 50 ml tube is a good sizable quantity, and it made to target dry hair and replenish the moisture needed.

3. Vaseline Aloe Fresh Daily Body Lotion SPF 15 - Essential
Now this is a brand that everybody has heard of! But this was one of the best products in the Bellabox. It was a good discovery by me because I always used to buy the original Vaseline. This Vaseline is freshly-scented and not too oily; it is easily absorbed into the skin  plus its SPF 15 combats against UVA and UVBs. Sunscreen plus moisturizer in one product, and not too heavy on the wallet either. I loved this one and will definitely buy it. Also, the small travel sized bottle is good to keep in your purse for on the go.

4. Alfaparf Semi Di Lino Moisture Shampoo - Luxe
This shampoo is by the same brand and from the same range as the conditioner mentioned above. Using both of these products together will determine a good result. I haven't tried this one yet, but it seems to be a good product from an unheard of brand.

5. Beautyshot Cosmetics Innovative
Now this is something entirely new for me. This is something like a daily vitamin tablet but its in the shape of a serum for your skin. I received the Skin Detox, and I am quite curious if this will work as it claims. If it does, then this is quite a step forward for the beauty industry as it claims to do in 7 days with 2 doses daily, day and night from the same dropper. One dropper contains enough for one day. I received two droppers. I shall try it and see how this turns out to be.

6. Avene Soothing Moisture Mask - Luxe
The last product in my Bellabox was a moisture mask by Avene. Its a French brand, and I have often heard that its mostly populates Bellabox boxes. I tried the moisture mask and I must admit it was a good hydrating one, and my skin was in need of it. It left my skin soft and supple; silky to the touch. But it is an expensive mask as it retails for $41.95 for a 50 ml tube. The 5 ml tube I received was enough for one mask, so I reckon the big tube would be enough for 10-11 times. It is an expensive buy, but worth using once a week or two.

BONUS product: Swisspers Naturals Aloe Daily Moisturiser SPF 15
This came in a sachet and immediately I was disappointed. It is always very difficult to use products out of a sachet, squeezing and trying to get all of it out. I wish it in a small tube like Avene as this is also 5 ml. I was least excited about this one, as this seemed like a bonus throw in. But I shall see how it is, because it also aloe and SPF 15 like the Vaseline, but it also minimises and redefines pores. I doubt this will be as good as Vaseline but you never know. Quite expensive from Vaseline as this retails for $10.99 for 100 ml whereas Vaseline is 200 ml for $7.68.

Overall, as my first Bellabox, I was happy with it. But I would expect more makeup next time and not as many skincare products. Do share what you received in your Bellabox and how was your experience.

Until then, be beautiful! Surprise yourself. Bellabox!
